Description: In Summer of 2022 MSS supported Eaton County and Johnson Controls with four solar photovoltaic installations as part of a larger energy retrofit of Eaton County’s municipal campus in Charlotte Michigan. Driven by ARPA funds and an Energy Performance contract the County sought to modernize buildings, improve budget flexibility, and drive employee satisfaction. The solar systems are dedicated to the Courthouse, Juvenile Facility, Health Department and County Jail. At each site a data logging system, revenue grade meter and weather station were installed to give ownership visibility in real time performance metrics of the systems. The carports cover 180 parking spots primarily used by county employees. Under the carports are lights to maintain parking lot safety and visibility – MSS was diligent to mount AC combiners at the canopies to allow for easy install of future EV chargers.
